World
Class Scholars is an exciting new program and we hope that all of our
ISP will join with us in a spirit of learning, experimentation and
adventure as the program is developed and refined over time.
The basic framework and plan for World Class Scholars is as follows: two schools, one from S. Carolina (USA) and another from a different part of the world (in our case: Greece-Europe), to work together for at least one school year of 9 months. Our partner teacher is Megan from S.Carolina from Great Falls Middle & High School (chester.gfmh.schooldesk.net). Our program is named "The Life of a Teenager - U.S. vs. Greece" and it will include the work of some students and three teachers of the two schools of both countries (school years 2015-16 and 2016-17).

As Europe and United States of America become more
culturally and ethnically diverse, public schools are becoming
more diverse, too. Schools should find the most effective pedagogical
approaches to help all students succeed academically as well as learn
to get along with each other. To create a positive environment
where students and teachers are respectful of different backgrounds,
schools have to be proactive. Schools should strive to create an
environment where all children feel valued and all children can
learn.
